Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Adam Rios (ranked 1234 p4p, 1078 weight class) and Sharven Sheven (ranked 203 p4p, 176 weight class). Sharven Sheven told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sharven Sheven!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Radbod Blank and Nard Betker.

No luck for Rios with that takedown attempt.
Sheven takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Rios throws a jab but it's blocked by Sheven.
Rios scores with a takedown into Sheven's guard.
Rios sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sheven's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sheven wants to get back to full guard.
Rios is taking a breather. Sheven says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Rios wants to control from the top but Sheven keeps moving.

Rios is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sheven sees it coming and defends easily.

Sheven shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rios napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Rios escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sheven gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Rios is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Adam Rios will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Rios slips a straight right by Sheven.
Sheven takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Rios steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Sheven.
Sheven wants to slow Rios down by chopping away at his legs.
Sheven ducks under a wild hook from Rios.
Sheven scores with a hook to the body. Rios takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
A nice leg kick lands there from Sheven.

Sharven Sheven seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sheven buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Rios throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sheven sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Sheven moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Rios goes down! Can Sheven finish him!?

It looks like Adam Rios has been cut.
Rios is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Oh Rios is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sheven advances to half guard.
Sheven passes to side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sheven stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Rios is holding his hands too far apart here. Sheven throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Rios is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Sharven Sheven!
Sharven Sheven decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
