The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Wangler tries to clinch up but Om circles away and keeps his distance.

Om is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. Wangler gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Wangler wants the takedown. Om is fighting it off but Wangler persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Om's guard against the ropes.

Om is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

We've been hearing good reports from Wangler's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Om wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Om has his foot on Wangler's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wangler works his way back into a safe position though.
