This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 1 losses; Commander Gree! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 2 losses; Arm Breaker! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Breaker closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gree to the mat! Gree manages to get full guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Gree (0) vs (2) Breaker Breaker slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Score +3 for passing guard: Gree (0) vs (5) Breaker Gree stops Breaker from passing to mount. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Gree is trying to get back to half guard. Breaker working away. Breaker looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Breaker advances nicely into full mount. Score +2 for reaching mount: Gree (0) vs (7) Breaker Gree can't escape the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gree is working hard here to advance position. Breaker can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gree is looking to escape. Breaker looking for a guillotine from mount but Gree is having none of it. Breaker is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Gree has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Gree bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Gree (2) vs (7) Breaker Breaker has his foot on Gree's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gree works his way back into a safe position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Breaker had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gree defends it easily. Gree is stalling in the full guard. Breaker is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Gree trying to control but Breaker is working from the bottom. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Breaker wants to sweep here but Gree controlling him for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gree slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Gree trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Breaker working a defensive guard here.

Breaker seems comfortable defending it but Gree has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Breaker is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Breaker is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Gree couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Commander Gree decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way. |
