This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Sydney, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; James Tuati! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Sydney, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Sunshine Okafor! The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Darius Henderson and Eliza Hachem.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Okafor moves into the clinch. Okafor is pressed up against the cage. Tuati has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Okafor down to the mat. Okafor avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Okafor closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Tuati jumps into guard, dragging Okafor to the mat.
Okafor wants to pass the guard but Tuati is keeping the position. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Okafor won't allow Tuati to sweep him here. Tuati seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. That's one minute gone in the round. Tuati has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Okafor's corner is telling him to maintain position. Tuati seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Okafor stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tuati swivels though and keeps the full guard. Tuati looking for a sweep. Not yet Tuati, not yet. Okafor is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Okafor being controlled here momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tuati is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Tuati passes Okafor's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
