Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling eachother endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
Washington darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Washington is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Illi doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Washington.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
