Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dick Niaz (ranked 4214 p4p, 3736 weight class) and Kobe Pace (ranked 456 p4p, 420 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Dick Niaz has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Dick Niaz seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dick Niaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Kobe Pace! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, William Gold and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A nice leg kick lands there from Pace. Pace throws a solid leg kick but Niaz takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Pace. Niaz changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Pace scores with a slapping inside leg kick. A nice leg kick from Pace, right into the meat of the thigh.
Kobe Pace seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pace misses with a low kick. Pace looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Niaz moves out of range of the leg kick from Pace. Niaz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pace lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Pace throws a leg kick that misses. Niaz attempts a counter takedown but Pace avoids it well and moves away. A nice leg kick from Pace, right into the meat of the thigh.
Niaz closes the distance and clinches. Pace lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. It looks like Pace is going to stand back up.
Niaz controlling the position well. Pace really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Niaz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Pace stands up out of the half guard. Pace walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Niaz checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Niaz looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
That's one minute gone in the round. A clash of legs there as Niaz blocks the low kick. Niaz feinted with a counter takedown. Niaz scores with a takedown into Pace's guard. Niaz forces his way into half guard. Pace is trying to stand up here but Niaz is controlling him well. Niaz controlling the action here. Niaz seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pace for as long as he can get away with. Niaz is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pace is just riding it out for now. Niaz eventually gives up the hold. Pace pushes Niaz off looking to stand but Niaz dives back in and keeps control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Niaz passes to side control. Pace is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Niaz content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pace wants to get back to his feet. Pace is trying to escape the position but Niaz is controlling the position. Niaz passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Pace!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Niaz has isolated one of Pace's arms. Pace looking to fight him off but Niaz twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
