Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mario Cashews (ranked 4783 p4p, 4610 weight class) and Kissy ONeill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kissy ONeill is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mario Cashews! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kissy ONeill! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cashews bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. ONeill tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. ONeill is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Cashews off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Even with his hooks in, Cashews manages to miss with strikes from the back. ONeill is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Cashews gets his way!

ONeill is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Cashews missing with strikes. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cashews is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. ONeill is defending well though. Cashews let's go of the attempt for now. ONeill is in bad spot here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cashews is trying to stick to ONeill's back but ONeill is turning into Cashews. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Cashews's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by ONeill. ONeill looking to pass the guard. ONeill must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Cashews seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Cashews keeping moving, preventing ONeill from controlling successfully. Cashews throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Our spies down at at Cozad MMA Las Vegas inform us that ONeill has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. ONeill looking to control.

The referee will not allow him to do that for long. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cashews with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cashews wanted to stand there but ONeill had control of the position. ONeill wants to stand and escape but Cashews is having none of it. Cashews looking to pass the guard. Cashews stays in close to ONeill's body and controls the position. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. ONeill has his foot on Cashews's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cashews works his way back into a safe position though. ONeill wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Cashews is now in half guard. Cashews wants to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Cashews showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from ONeill.
Cashews wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. ONeill scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Cashews shoots in for a takedown and gets it. ONeill makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Cashews decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. ONeill has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Cashews is on him like a limpet, forcing ONeill back against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Mario Cashews will probably get the nod. That's time! Cashews's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. ONeill clobbers Cashews with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Cashews changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. ONeill looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cashews content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. ONeill tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. You get the feeling that ONeill really doesn't like being in this position too much.

That's one minute gone in the round. Cashews is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent. Poor strikes thrown by Cashews there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
ONeill is looking to improve his position but Cashews isn't that keen on the idea. Cashews sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. ONeill tries to improve his position but Cashews has taken his back! Cashews has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will ONeill tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Cashews pushes ONeill away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
