Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Philipp Tyurin (ranked 1164 p4p, 4418 weight class) and Gunnar Hamundarson (ranked 45 p4p, 141 weight class). Gunnar Hamundarson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Philipp Tyurin! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gunnar Hamundarson! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hamundarson shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Hamundarson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tyurin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hamundarson somewhat. Tyurin scores with a nice head shot. Hamundarson gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Hamundarson has his takedown stuffed and Tyurin counters by moving into the clinch. Tyurin tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Hamundarson's elbow. Hamundarson slowing the pace effectively. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tyurin tries to throw a body punch but Hamundarson avoids it by throwing Tyurin back against the cage. Tyurin blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Hamundarson taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Tyurin lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Hamundarson backwards. Hamundarson has Tyurin pushed against the cage. Tyurin tries to pull guard but Hamundarson won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tyurin tries to work over Hamundarson's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Hamundarson struggles to land a body shot inside as Tyurin controls his hands.
Hamundarson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Hamundarson manages to end up in side control. Hamundarson wants to control but Tyurin is keeping him busy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tyurin is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Zero Tolerance that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Tyurin tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hamundarson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Tyurin manages to work his way to half guard, despite Hamundarson's best efforts. Tyurin is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hamundarson pulls his head out easily. Tyurin is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Hamundarson is tapping! Great win for Tyurin!

Philipp Tyurin was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
