Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Bateman (ranked 2463 p4p, 1695 weight class) and Frankie Griggs (ranked 352 p4p, 253 weight class). Bateman comes to the cage accompanied by King of New York, Fun luvin Criminals . Griggs has chosen LL Cool J- Momma Said Knock You Out as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Bateman has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Griggs is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Griggs can do anything to dispel that myth.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bateman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Griggs really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bateman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Griggs has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Bateman is on him like a limpet, forcing Griggs back against the cage.

Frankie Griggs showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Griggs enables Bateman to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Griggs manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bateman connects with a nice short shot to Griggs's temple.

Bateman looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Griggs with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Griggs felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Griggs is bucking up trying to escape but Bateman cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Bateman postures up and throws a big right hand. BOOM! Right on the button! Griggs is out cold - huge knockout for Bateman!

A victorious Patrick Bateman thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter.
Frankie Griggs was interviewed post fight and said 'It'll be back to the drawing board. This isn't the end. Everytime I lose I only come back the next fight much stronger.'.
