Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Michael Benitoy (ranked 1524 p4p, 5100 weight class) and Simon Poulter (ranked 175 p4p, 424 weight class). Benitoy comes into the arena with Gangsta's Paradise blaring out of the sound system. Simon Poulter is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

Benitoy misses with a head kick.

Poulter gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Benitoy tries to throw a body punch but Poulter avoids it by throwing Benitoy back against the cage.
Benitoy gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Poulter.

Benitoy tightens his grip and picks Poulter up, before dumping him to the ground. Poulter manages to land in guard.
Benitoy lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Benitoy stays in close to Poulter's body and controls the position.
Benitoy prevents Poulter from getting back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Benitoy drops back looking for a leg! Poulter is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Poulter manages to kick Benitoy off! Benitoy jumps back into Poulter's guard.
Benitoy keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Poulter's head.

Benitoy postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Benitoy is working Poulter over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Benitoy stands up over Poulter, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Benitoy is trying to trip Poulter. He has hold of a leg but Poulter is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Benitoy persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Benitoy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Poulter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Benitoy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Benitoy avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Poulter is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Poulter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Poulter can do anything to dispel that myth.

Benitoy has hold of Poulter's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Poulter seems comfortable defending it but Benitoy has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Poulter is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Poulter is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Benitoy couldn't care less - he's delighted!
