Da Oxlade is looking to counter with a body kick.
Mawi Da Oxlade is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Smith ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Da Oxlade moves away.

and Da Oxlade counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Da Oxlade throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Smith has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Smith there as he acknowledges the shot.
Da Oxlade looks to score with a jab to the body but Smith is just out of range.
Smith has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Da Oxlade.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Da Oxlade lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Da Oxlade tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Da Oxlade gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Smith.
Smith throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Da Oxlade fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Smith on the side of the head.

Smith is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Da Oxlade's half guard.
Da Oxlade is trying is best to control the position here.
Da Oxlade has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Da Oxlade wants to get back to full guard.
Da Oxlade moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Smith looking to sit in guard and control but Da Oxlade gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Smith might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
A jab from Smith finds it's way through Da Oxlade's defenses.
Smith throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
A counter left hand to the body from Da Oxlade misses its target.
Smith pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Da Oxlade moves away from the strike by Smith.
Da Oxlade connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Da Oxlade is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Smith misses with a lunging right hand
and Da Oxlade counters with a powerful cross that connects right on the chin and the lights go out! A massive one punch knock out!

Mawi Da Oxlade decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
Aaron Smith spoke after the fight, saying 'No one likes seeing their opponent's hand raised, but that just means that they were the better man today. My team at 3Band MMA and I will break down this match and make the proper changes for my next camp.'.
