This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 8 wins and 1 losses; Bong Ji Woo! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 0 losses; Ramon Carlos !
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Glass and Paul Tew.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Ji Woo clinches up with Carlos and pushes him back against the cage.
Ji Woo drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Carlos gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Carlos has Ji Woo pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Carlos pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Ji Woo tumbling to the mat - Carlos dives into Ji Woo's guard.

Carlos sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ji Woo's guard.
Carlos is controlling the pace.
Ji Woo wants to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Carlos wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ji Woo keeps working.

Ji Woo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carlos is looking to get back to full guard here but Ji Woo has managed to pass to side control instead.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Carlos has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Ji Woo's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Ji Woo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Ji Woo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Carlos does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ji Woo in particular looking to stall.
