Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 27 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Randy Curran! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 19 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Ricky Bobby Jr! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bobby Jr slips under a jab. Bobby Jr showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Curran.
Curran lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Curran misses with a head kick.
Bobby Jr takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Bobby Jr darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Curran tries to get to full guard but Bobby Jr has control of the leg. Bobby Jr postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Curran to stand up. Bobby Jr shoots in looking for a takedown. Curran tries to sprawl out of it but Bobby Jr keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Curran manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bobby Jr scores with a kick to the midsection. Curran throws a head kick that misses and Bobby Jr counters with a lovely straight right hand! Curran throws a jab when Bobby Jr was well out of range. Curran drives through and clinches with Bobby Jr against the cage.

Bobby Jr pushes Curran back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. A quick uppercut on the inside from Curran. Bobby Jr tries for a takedown but Curran manages to get underhooks.
A short right from Curran. Curran decides to pull guard. Curran pushes Bobby Jr off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Horrible takedown attempt by Bobby Jr or perhaps it was just good defense by Curran, which made it look bad. Randy Curran has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricky Bobby Jr. Curran displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bobby Jr. Curran throws a right and a left that both miss. No luck with that takedown attempt from Bobby Jr. Curran looks for the body kick but Bobby Jr saw that one coming. Curran moves into the clinch. Curran misses with a short punch on the inside. Bobby Jr escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bobby Jr walks into a left hand. Curran seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Randy Curran is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A punch combination from Curran misses. A bone on bone clash there as Bobby Jr blocks the leg kick.
Bobby Jr shoots in and drives through. Curran sprawls well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bobby Jr closes the distance and pushes Curran back into the cage. A head punch blocked on the inside by Bobby Jr. Curran gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bobby Jr manages to escape and get back to his feet! Curran gets a clinch. Curran slowing the pace effectively. Curran has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Bobby Jr after a bit of a struggle. Curran has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bobby Jr is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. A left hand lands to the body for Curran.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Curran tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Bobby Jr has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Curran avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Curran creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Curran working aggressively here.
Bobby Jr tries to pull guard but Curran holds him up against the cage and eventually Bobby Jr drops back down to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Curran lands a left hand that snaps the head of Bobby Jr backwards. Curran breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
No joy there for Bobby Jr, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Curran half committed to a counter leg kick. Curran misses with a two punch combination.

Curran throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Bobby Jr stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Bobby Jr will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Bobby Jr tries a head kick but it misses.
Curran seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Curran avoids the head kick by Bobby Jr.
As Bobby Jr tries to get set, Curran tries to push him back and clinch up but Bobby Jr manages to avoid the attempt. Bobby Jr misses with a wild body shot. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Randy Curran dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Good standup being displayed there by Curran as he connects with a hook. Curran tries to clinch up but Bobby Jr circles away and keeps his distance. Bobby Jr with the counter takedown but Curran avoids it easily. Curran takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Curran swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bobby Jr throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Nice uppercut there from Curran. No joy there for Curran, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Randy Curran is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Bobby Jr clinches with his opponent.
Curran is stalling here.
Randy Curran has scored more points in the clinch so far. Bobby Jr tries to pull guard but Curran forces him back to his feet, against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Curran throws a head punch that misses. Bobby Jr breaks the clinch.

Curran has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Curran gets a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Bobby Jr takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Bobby Jr tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Curran just stands there and leans against the cage. Curran fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Curran. Curran jumps guard but Bobby Jr stands there with Curran around his waist. Curran gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
