Trotter moves into the clinch.
Trotter tries to land a knee to the head but Simone blocks with his arms.
We've been informed that Simone has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Simone misses with a short punch on the inside.
Simone prevents a body shot from Trotter.
Simone lands a hook that snaps the head of Trotter backwards.

Simone's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Simone looks for the body kick but Trotter saw that one coming.
Simone lands a nice leg kick that just misses Trotter's sensitive parts.

Trotter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Simone keeps working.
Simone tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Trotter wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Trotter seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Simone is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
