PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kvame Zulu (ranked 67 p4p, 154 weight class) and Jorge Cruz Jr (ranked 10 p4p, 23 weight class). Zulu comes into the arena with Big Badaboom blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jorge Cruz Jr!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.

Cruz Jr misses with a looping right.
Zulu connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Cruz Jr momentarily.
Zulu definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Zulu lands a nice shot to the body.
Cruz Jr lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

It looks like Kvame Zulu has been cut.
A big left from Cruz Jr misses.
Cruz Jr throws an off balance right hand
and Zulu cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

It looks like Jorge Cruz Jr has been cut.
Zulu throws a jab but it's blocked by Cruz Jr.
Cruz Jr throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Zulu's head.
Donk. Zulu catches Cruz Jr right on the button with a cross.
Cruz Jr lunges at Zulu with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Zulu's hand.

Kvame Zulu's cut is getting worse.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cruz Jr takes one to the chin there.
Zulu misses with a body shot.

Cruz Jr drops Zulu with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Zulu looks back up at him and smiles so Cruz Jr waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Zulu is rocked!
Cruz Jr has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Zulu lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Cruz Jr has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Cruz Jr and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Oh Zulu is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cruz Jr circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Zulu tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Cruz Jr wins by KO!

A less than humble Jorge Cruz Jr misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
