Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andre Alzamora (ranked 577 p4p, 1013 weight class) and Xun Zemin (ranked 67 p4p, 118 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 16 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Xun Zemin!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Alzamora buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Alzamora closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Alzamora lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Zemin at a distance.
Alzamora lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

It looked like Alzamora was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Zemin.
Zemin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Zemin! But no joy.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Andre Alzamora will probably get the nod.

Alzamora has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Zemin looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Zemin steps in with a hook that catches Alzamora right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Zemin follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Alzamora looks absolutely devastated.
