Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Evgeny Kolesov (ranked 2248 p4p, 3421 weight class) and Khabitch Nurmagotaptap (ranked 324 p4p, 460 weight class). The key to victory for Evgeny Kolesov has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Evgeny Kolesov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Khabitch Nurmagotaptap! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Daniel Bishop and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kolesov jabs Nurmagotaptap right on the nose. Nurmagotaptap blinks but takes it well. A jab from Kolesov finds it's way through Nurmagotaptap's defenses. Nurmagotaptap fails with a takedown attempt. Kolesov lands with a shot to the body. Nurmagotaptap tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kolesov swivels and escapes. Kolesov drops down looking for a counter takedown but Nurmagotaptap sprawls and moves away. Jab by Kolesov. Nurmagotaptap doesn't succeed with the takedown and Kolesov cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. We've been told by Kolesov's head coaches at Average Joe’s Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Evgeny Kolesov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Khabitch Nurmagotaptap. Nurmagotaptap shoots and misses and Kolesov moves into the clinch. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Nurmagotaptap. Kolesov stalling.
Kolesov breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Nurmagotaptap takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kolesov fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kolesov closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nurmagotaptap to the mat! Nurmagotaptap manages to get full guard. Nurmagotaptap is looking to stand up but Kolesov isn't so interested in that idea. Kolesov is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Kolesov with a nice head shot there. Nurmagotaptap throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Kolesov working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Nurmagotaptap's head. Kolesov throwing strikes but missing. Nurmagotaptap wants to sweep but no luck. Kolesov content to stall in guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kolesov connects with a couple of short punches. Nurmagotaptap is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Kolesov is trying is best to control the position here. The fighters are battling for position here. Kolesov manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Kolesov lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Kolesov passes Nurmagotaptap's right leg, so he's now in half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Kolesov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nurmagotaptap keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nurmagotaptap pushes Kolesov off looking to stand but Kolesov dives back in and keeps control.

Kolesov seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Nurmagotaptap really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kolesov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kolesov is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kolesov lands a nice short elbow. Nurmagotaptap felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Kolesov working over Nurmagotaptap with some ground and pound. Nurmagotaptap looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nurmagotaptap can do anything to dispel that myth. Kolesov is nestled in close to Nurmagotaptap, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nurmagotaptap is trying to control but Kolesov manages to pass to mount!
Kolesov takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Nurmagotaptap is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Nurmagotaptap sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Kolesov prevents Nurmagotaptap from improving his position. Kolesov blocks the strikes from Nurmagotaptap.
Kolesov drops an elbow to the side of Nurmagotaptap's head. Kolesov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nurmagotaptap keeps working. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Evgeny Kolesov dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Nurmagotaptap doesn't succeed with the takedown and Kolesov counters with a nice uppercut. Nurmagotaptap has his takedown stuffed and Kolesov counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Kolesov cracks Nurmagotaptap on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Nurmagotaptap falls backwards against the cage. Kolesov follows up with more strikes that drop Nurmagotaptap to his knees. Kolesov keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Nurmagotaptap! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Evgeny Kolesov!
