Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sergej Kersikov (ranked 4656 p4p, 3139 weight class) and Joey Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sergej Kersikov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joey Dixon! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Reed Andrews and Chad Campbell.

Kersikov shoots and misses and Dixon counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Dixon. Dixon lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Kersikov wants to take the fight to the mat but Dixon manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Dixon works on Kersikov's body with a couple of short punches. Kersikov is breathing heavily. Dixon works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Dixon scores with a shot to the side of Kersikov's head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dixon jumps guard and drags Kersikov to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Dixon wants to sweep but no luck.

Dixon controlling from the top position. Dixon pushing down on Kersikov's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Dixon sitting and controlling from the half guard. Kersikov makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kersikov. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dixon walks away with a smile on his face. Kersikov gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Dixon tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kersikov sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dixon somewhat. Kersikov is looking to clinch but Dixon is avoiding it.
A lazy left from Dixon finds it's target. Dixon looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Kersikov! Kersikov is being controlled here. Kersikov wants to control but Dixon postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kersikov tries to bench press Dixon off him but Dixon keeps the position. A lull in the action here as Dixon stalls from top position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Dixon clinches up with Kersikov and pushes him back against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joey Dixon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round! Kersikov takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Dixon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kersikov. Dixon tries to counter by closing the distance. Kersikov doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Sergej Kersikov is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Dixon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Dixon controlling the action here.

And that's the end of the fight! Joey Dixon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Dixon has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
