Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Zoltan Zohan (ranked 4064 p4p, 4721 weight class) and Shaka Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zohan has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Shaka Jones told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Zoltan Zohan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shaka Jones!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Russell Pearce and Columbo Gatti.

Jones misses with a jab to the body
enabling Zohan to counter with a crisp jab.
Jones is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Zohan.
Jones lands a jab.
Zohan takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Zohan takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Zohan missing with a left hand there. Jones was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Zohan moves away from the strike by Jones.
Jones walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Jones's jab looks to have found its range, popping Zohan under the eye.

It looks like Zoltan Zohan has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Zohan uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jones.
Zohan swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Zohan uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Jones has time to react.
Jones thuds a left hand into Zohan's body.
Shaka Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jones lands a jab to the head.
Oh Zohan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jones cracks Zohan with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
A slow jab from Jones misses its intended target.
A quick step to the side and Zohan tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Zohan throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Zohan throws an overhand right that lands on Jones's shoulder, as Jones tries to avoid the shot.
Zohan doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Zohan seems to have got his legs back now.
Zohan is breathing heavily.
Jones looks to land a left hand but Zohan moved out of range nicely.
Jones loads up on a big right hand but Zohan slips the punch.
Zohan is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jones.
Jones swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Jones slips under a jab.
Decent striking displayed by Jones there.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jones throws a lazy right hand but Zohan sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
It looked like Zohan wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Zohan walks straight into a right hand from Jones - that's dropped him! Jones jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Zohan from any more punishment! Zohan complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Shaka Jones!
