PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert Robertsson (ranked 3128 p4p, 3105 weight class) and Howard Stern (ranked 409 p4p, 406 weight class). Stern has chosen The Great American Nightmare as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 43 - 39 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Howard Stern!

Stern misses with a few strikes there.
Stern goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Robertsson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Stern avoids it really well and circles away.
Robertsson looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Stern connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Stern felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

That was a close round but I would say that Robert Robertsson will probably get the nod.

Stern isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Robertsson stacks Stern on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Robertsson!

In his post fight interview, Robert Robertsson started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
In defeat, Howard Stern stepped up to the mic, saying 'I blame Robin and those big G's.'.
