Steele has chosen Manowar - Heart of Steel as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 17 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rogerio De Souza! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 22 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Stanley Steele! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! De Souza looks to land a combination but Steele avoids it well. Steele jabs at De Souza's body. Steele shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Steele slips a jab from De Souza. Stanley Steele seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. De Souza looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. We've been hearing reports that De Souza has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. De Souza keeps the fight on the outside. De Souza is looking for a counter combo. Steele misses with a left hand and Steele takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. De Souza closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - De Souza lands in his opponent's guard. De Souza trying to control but Steele is working from the bottom. Steele is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. De Souza sitting in guard, not really doing much. De Souza looking to sit in guard and control but Steele gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Steele content to control rather than advance. De Souza tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Steele has advanced to mount. Uh oh. De Souza is looking to improve his position but Steele isn't that keen on the idea.

De Souza is squirming around, avoiding Steele's attempts to control the action. De Souza is trying desperately to improve position. Steele controlling the position easily from mount.

De Souza tries to lock up and control but Steele gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Steele looking to control and managing it successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Steele avoids the attempt from De Souza to control. Steele trying to control but De Souza is having none of it. De Souza tries to hold on but Steele pushes him away. De Souza tries to improve his position but Steele has taken his back! Steele has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will De Souza tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Steele pushes De Souza away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
