Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gunars Zonbergs (ranked 24399 p4p, 24457 weight class) and Scott Trip (ranked 263 p4p, 255 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scott Trip!

Trip drives through with a takedown into Zonbergs's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Trip accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Zonbergs wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Trip throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Trip displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Zonbergs.

Zonbergs shoots in but no luck this time.
Trip is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Zonbergs shoots in looking for a takedown. Trip tries to sprawl out of it but Zonbergs keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Trip manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gunars Zonbergs. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No luck for Trip with that takedown attempt.
Trip pivots, looking for a leg kick but Zonbergs is out of range and Trip settles back down.
Horrible takedown attempt by Trip or perhaps it was just good defense by Zonbergs, which made it look bad.
Zonbergs is looking to counter punch.
Trip shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Zonbergs sprawls well. Zonbergs wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Trip gets slowly back to his feet.
Zonbergs drops down looking for a counter takedown but Trip sprawls and moves away.
A head kick by Zonbergs misses
and Trip counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Zonbergs throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Trip's waist but Trip gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Zonbergs off to one side.
Trip closes this distance looking for a takedown but Zonbergs circles away.
Trip defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Zonbergs.
Zonbergs shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Trip counters with a series of strikes. Zonbergs will be more careful next time no doubt.

and Trip counters with a big slam. Zonbergs looks out but Trip is landing strikes to his unconscious opponent! Eventually the ref steps in to save Zonbergs from any more punishment. A brutal conclusion to the fight!
