Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Miko Toms (ranked 2829 p4p, 2267 weight class) and Malam Sambu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Toms comes into the arena with Quarentine Freestyle, bbno$ and Lentra blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Miko Toms! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Malam Sambu! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Peter Branson and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Toms dives in and scores a takedown into Sambu's guard. Toms working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Toms trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Toms with a nice head shot there. Sambu has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Toms tries to free his leg and advance position but Sambu is retaining full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Toms postures up in Sambu's guard and throws a big left but Sambu blocks it. Toms trying to control but Sambu is working from the bottom. Sambu looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
That's one minute gone in the round. Toms sitting in guard, not really doing much. Toms missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Sambu keeping full guard, as Toms tries to pass. Sambu avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Sambu throws a leg kick that is checked and Toms counters with a nice double leg into guard. Toms trying to control the position from guard on top but Sambu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Toms preventing the sweep.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sambu can do anything to dispel that myth. Toms pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Sambu really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Toms. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Toms decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Sambu misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Toms is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Sambu.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sambu is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Toms's half guard. Sambu is just content to waste time from the top position. Toms takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Toms wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Sambu loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Sambu throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Toms is on top in guard.

Sambu utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Miko Toms dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Sambu misses with a low kick. Toms on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Sambu misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Toms.

Toms moves out of range of the leg kick from Sambu. Toms feints and as Sambu raises his hands in defense, Toms changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Toms content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Toms is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Toms prevents Sambu from getting back to his feet. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Miko Toms overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Toms postures up in Sambu's guard and throws a big left but Sambu blocks it. Sambu keeping moving, preventing Toms from controlling successfully. Toms working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Toms postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Toms throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sambu works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Toms drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Toms jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Toms working some strikes from top position. Toms slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Sambu controls Toms momentarily but Toms frees himself. Toms prevents Sambu from getting back to his feet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Malam Sambu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Toms looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sambu is fending him off so far but Toms persists. Nope, Sambu circles away and we're back to standing. Sambu feints a counter leg kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sambu leaves Toms with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Sambu throws a body punch but Toms moves out of range. Toms tries to clinch up but Sambu circles away and keeps his distance. Toms throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sambu's waist but Sambu gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Toms off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Miko Toms. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sambu thows a leg kick but Toms checks it and Toms counters with a shoot takedown. Sambu fights it but they end up in guard. Toms not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Toms in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Sambu wants to stand but Toms is controlling the position. Sambu keeping full guard, as Toms tries to pass.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Toms trying to control but Sambu is working from the bottom. Toms throwing strikes but missing. Toms postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Sambu looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Sambu throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Sambu gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Toms has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Toms throwing strikes from guard but Sambu blocks nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Miko Toms dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round! Sambu fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Toms is out of range. Sambu lands a really nice looking cross but Toms seems unphased.
Sambu sizes up Toms with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Sambu tries to clinch and Toms counters with a head kick that drops Sambu to the mat! Sambu scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Sambu is rocked! Toms shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Sambu is on queer street and Toms is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Miko Toms! After winning the bout, Miko Toms thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
