Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Adam Johnson (ranked 2451 p4p, 2191 weight class) and Klaus Silverstein (ranked 260 p4p, 234 weight class). Klaus Silverstein acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Klaus Silverstein!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Percy O'Donnell.

Silverstein on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Silverstein shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Johnson pinned against the cage. Johnson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
We've been hearing reports that Johnson has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Johnson shoots in but Silverstein avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Johnson dives in for a single leg takedown but Silverstein sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Johnson misses with an uppercut. Silverstein saw that one coming.
Silverstein appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.

Johnson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Silverstein to the ground. Johnson is now in Silverstein's guard.

Johnson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Silverstein dives on top into guard.


Johnson has his foot on Silverstein's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Silverstein works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silverstein is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Silverstein wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.

Johnson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Silverstein gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Johnson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Silverstein is aware though and is defending well.

Johnson is looking for a triangle but Silverstein pushes his legs off easily.

Johnson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Silverstein drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Silverstein jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Silverstein wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.

Silverstein thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Johnson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Silverstein wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Johnson sneaks back into half guard.
Silverstein trying to control the action but Johnson is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
You can see the frustration on Silverstein's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Adam Johnson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Silverstein is looking to regain half guard here but Johnson keeps moving and retains side control.
Johnson advances to mount.
Johnson is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Silverstein tries to hold on but Johnson pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Johnson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Silverstein's face.

Johnson is landing with some decent strikes but Silverstein is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Silverstein is still in real trouble! Can Johnson finish him?

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Johnson lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Silverstein! Johnson sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Silverstein and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!
