Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Antoine Rushe (ranked 4795 p4p, 4555 weight class) and John Kingsley (ranked 566 p4p, 553 weight class). Kingsley has chosen Razor Town Rising as his entrance music. Antoine Rushe could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to John Kingsley's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Antoine Rushe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Kingsley! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rushe throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Rushe with a nice calf kick. Nice shot lands for Rushe. Kingsley takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Kingsley fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. It appears Rushe was looking to counter with a kick there. Rushe cracks Kingsley with a good jab. Rushe lands with a cross. Kingsley fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Rushe wants to clinch and Kingsley counters with a nice double leg into guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kingsley throws a big right hand that misses. Kingsley trying to control but Rushe is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kingsley throwing strikes but missing. Rushe tries to land a sweep but no joy. Kingsley is in close to Rushe's body, working some short punches and elbows. Kingsley postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Rushe wants to sweep here but Kingsley controlling him for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kingsley thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Rushe is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Rushe avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Rushe is trying to keep Kingsley in close.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Antoine Rushe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kingsley tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rushe sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kingsley somewhat. Antoine Rushe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Kingsley. Rushe tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Kingsley dives in and scores a takedown into Rushe's guard. Rushe has his hands on Kingsley's head, controlling the position. Rushe looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kingsley postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Kingsley throwing strikes from guard but Rushe blocks nicely. Rushe controlling Kingsley's posture. Kingsley working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Rushe's head. Kingsley throwing strikes but missing. Rushe controls Kingsley momentarily but Kingsley frees himself. Kingsley is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Kingsley stopping the sweep attempt from Rushe. Rushe working a defensive guard here.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Rushe scores with a crisp jab that stopped Kingsley in his tracks. Rushe looks to land a left hand but Kingsley moved out of range nicely. Kingsley looks for a takedown but Rushe sprawls well. Rushe lands a head shot. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kingsley walks into a stiff left hand from Rushe. Nice shot lands for Rushe. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Antoine Rushe dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Kingsley takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Kingsley feints the counter takedown. Rushe throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Kingsley fails with a takedown attempt. Rushe with a jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rushe throws out a powerful jab. Kingsley takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Rushe connects with a jab. Rushe scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

and Kingsley counters with a shoot takedown. Rushe fights it but they end up in guard. Kingsley drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kingsley jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Rushe not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Kingsley wants to stand but Rushe is controlling his posture from full guard. Kingsley missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Rushe lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Kingsley tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rushe wants to control from the top but Kingsley keeps moving. Rushe is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. John Kingsley has got the better of the ground game so far. Rushe trying to control the position from guard on top but Kingsley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rushe won't allow Kingsley to sweep him here. Kingsley keeping moving, preventing Rushe from controlling successfully. Rushe sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kingsley's guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kingsley can do anything to dispel that myth. Rushe is just content to waste time from the top position. Kingsley takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Kingsley pulls Rushe in close to prevent any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kingsley can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rushe controls the pace. Kingsley is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rushe is controlling him. Rushe wants to pass the guard but Kingsley is keeping the position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Kingsley on the wrong end of a nice jab. Rushe looks to land a left hand but Kingsley moved out of range nicely. Rushe throws a sloppy head kick and Kingsley moves out of range easily. Kingsley drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Rushe defends it well. Kingsley blocks the body kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kingsley takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Rushe lands with a hook. Kingsley tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Rushe lands an overhand right. Rushe lands with a cross. Rushe throws a right hand that misses
and Kingsley counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Kingsley trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rushe wants to improve his position but instead Kingsley has moved into half guard.
Rushe wants to control but Kingsley is keeping busy.
Kingsley is keen to just control but Rushe is a slippery customer. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Antoine Rushe dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round! Kingsley fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Rushe looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Kingsley tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rushe swivels and escapes. Kingsley has his takedown stuffed and Rushe counters with a good low kick that Kingsley was not able to check. Antoine Rushe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Kingsley. Kingsley fails with a takedown attempt. Rushe connects with a crisp jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rushe leaves Kingsley with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rushe tries to clinch up. Kingsley tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Rushe lands a jab. Rushe looks to land a body kick but Kingsley moved away. Kingsley needs to keep his hands up - Rushe had a free shot at his head there. Kingsley tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rushe swivels and escapes. Rushe lands a leg kick that knocks Kingsley off balance momentarily. Rushe's jab looks to have found its range, popping Kingsley under the eye. Kingsley shoots for a takedown but Rushe saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Kingsley fails with a takedown attempt. Kingsley takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Rushe lands a glancing blow to the side of Kingsley's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rushe throws a sloppy head kick and Kingsley moves out of range easily. Rushe slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Rushe lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Rushe displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kingsley. Rushe connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rushe closes the distance and clinches. Kingsley is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Rushe gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Rushe throws a head punch that misses. Kingsley wants a takedown.

Rushe is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Rushe trying to control from half guard but Kingsley is working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rushe trying to mount his opponent but Kingsley defends it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kingsley keeping control of the position. Kingsley trying to control here.
John Kingsley has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kingsley controlling the position for now. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rushe uses his free foot to push down on Kingsley's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Kingsley. Antoine Rushe is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Rushe wants to take Kingsley's back but he can't do it this time.
And that's the end of the fight! Antoine Rushe showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rushe, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
