Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Solomon Nao (ranked 167 p4p, 198 weight class) and Bismack Kagonbo (ranked 27 p4p, 28 weight class). Nao comes to the cage accompanied by The End. Kagonbo has chosen Voodoo as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are William Gold, Colin Fotheringham and Steven Brown.

Nao misses with a kick to the body
and Kagonbo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
It looks like Solomon Nao has been cut.
Nao slips a straight right by Kagonbo.
As Kagonbo backs away, Nao returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Nao throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Nao walks into a stiff left hand from Kagonbo.
Nao loads up on a big right hand but Kagonbo slips the punch.
Kagonbo scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

and Nao counters with a nice low kick that buckles Kagonbo's knee momentarily.

and Nao counters with a thumping low kick.

and Kagonbo makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Nao is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kagonbo.
Kagonbo looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Nao swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Nao on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Kagonbo takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Nao has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Nao there as he acknowledges the shot.

Kagonbo throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Nao cracks Kagonbo with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Kagonbo lands a lovely overhand right.

Nao looks to land a right hand but Kagonbo moved out of range.
Kagonbo missing with a left hand there. Nao was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Kagonbo is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Nao had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Kagonbo throws a lazy uppercut
and Nao counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Kagonbo tries to work over Nao's front leg with a kick but Nao checks it.
Nao clobbers Kagonbo with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Kagonbo ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Kagonbo jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kagonbo feints a jab promting Nao to slip. Kagonbo then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Nao slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Solomon Nao's cut is getting worse.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Good exchange - Kagonbo coming out on top.
Kagonbo circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Nao to the canvas! Nao doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Kagonbo keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bismack Kagonbo!
After the fight, Bismack Kagonbo was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
