Gracie comes into the arena with Born To Win blaring out of the sound system. Ryan Gracie has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ryan Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Richard Bravo!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bravo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gracie looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Bravo postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Bravo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gracie is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Bravo in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Gracie is not content to let Bravo control the position.

Bravo looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
You can see the frustration on Gracie's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Gracie gets back to half guard.
Gracie wants to improve his position but Bravo is controlling well.
Bravo is looking to advance position but Gracie won't allow it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Gracie takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.


It looks like Richard Bravo has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gracie misses with a takedown attempt

and Bravo counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Gracie is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Bravo rolls with it to try and escape but Gracie cranks on the arm and Bravo is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
