Petard throws out a loose jab but Fernandes uses good head movement to avoid it.

Fernandes's coach down at Paris & Sons Training Yard was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Fernandes's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fernandes pushes off an throws an elbow but Petard leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the ropes.

Petard breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

A frustrated look appears on Petard's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Petard wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Fernandes has him pressed against the ropes.

and as Petard resets, Fernandes pounces with a savage head kick that drops Petard to the mat! Petard looks wobbly but gets back to his feet on the count of 5. The referee continues the count to 8 then steps aside to let these two guys get back at it!

Fernandes ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
A left lands for Fernandes.
Petard lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Boom! Fernandes lands a massive head kick that sends Petard crashing into the ropes, followed by a classic face plant on the canvas! He's up to his knees but he's not going to beat the count - this one is all over! Fernandes is jumping around like a lunatic, extatic with the win!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Riccardo Fernandes!
A very excited looking Riccardo Fernandes made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
