Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Doug Bell (ranked 770 p4p, 232 weight class) and Sunray Spike (ranked 98 p4p, 37 weight class). Spike comes into a darkened arena with his song building. For Heavy Metal we will die! kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 28 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Doug Bell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 28 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sunray Spike! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Phil Schofield and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spike scores with a jab. Bell acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Bell misses with an uppercut
and Spike counters with a nice uppercut. Nice uppercut there from Bell. Spike slips a straight right by Bell. Bell with a body punch. A glancing blow. Bell misses with a hook
and Spike counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Bell takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bell is defended easily by Spike. Spike stalks Bell and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Bell's face. Bell staggers backwards, shaken. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Spike misses with a wild combination.
Bell looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Bell takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Spike lands with a thumping leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spike keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Bell. Bell tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Spike swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bell moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Spike scores with a body shot.
Spike lands an overhand right. A leg kick checked by Bell. Nice shot lands for Spike. Spike throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Spike throws a head kick that misses. Spike is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Nice cross by Bell. This has been an exciting period of action! Bell throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Spike tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Bell is in Spike's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Bell throwing strikes but missing. Bell throws a big right hand that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bell slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Bell is trying to ground and pound but Spike uses the momentary lack of control by Bell to regain half guard. Bell looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Spike with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Spike is concentrating on defense, preventing Bell from advancing position. Bell throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Spike to regain full guard. Bell throws a strike but Spike rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Bell kicks Spike off and gets to his feet. Spike thumps Bell with a low kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spike scores with a head kick. Bell tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Spike fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bell manages to avoid it. Spike avoids the head kick by Bell.
Spike looks like he wants to counter punch here. Bell throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Spike tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Bell is in Spike's guard. Bell throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Spike works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Bell won't allow Spike to sweep him here. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Spike is on top in guard.
Bell tries to land a sweep but no joy. Spike tries to stand but Bell is controlling from the bottom. Spike is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bell is controlling Spike's posture. Bell not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Bell controlling the position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Sunray Spike dominated that round. That's time! Bell's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Spike takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Spike with a nice cross. Bell walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Bell throws the left hand but Spike avoids the punch easily. Nice body kick from Spike. Spike connects with the punch. Spike pivots, looking for a leg kick but Bell is out of range and Spike settles back down. Bell lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Spike slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Spike misses with the combination.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Spike dips to his left and cracks Bell with an uppercut! Spike pivots, looking for a leg kick but Bell is out of range and Spike settles back down.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spike misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bell.
The fighters circling - Bell throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Spike jabs at Bell's body. Bell with a poor takedown and Spike counters with a straight right hand. Bell will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Spike slips under a jab. Bell shoots for a takedown but Spike saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Doug Bell. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Spike scores with the left hand. Bell knows he should have avoided that one. Spike has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Spike with a hook. Spike scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Bell takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Spike fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Spike scores with a nice head shot. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bell is trying hard to land a takedown here. Spike sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Bell walks forward, straight into a front kick from Spike. Bell takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bell ducks right into an uppercut from Spike. A solid leg kick lands there for Spike.

Sunray Spike seems to be getting the better of the standup. Spike misses with the combination.
Spike looks to land a combination but Bell avoids it well. Spike cracks Bell with a good jab. Bell avoids the head kick by Spike.
Spike fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Bell on the side of the head. A telegraphed right hand from Bell misses the target. Bell connects with a nice looking jab.

and Spike counters with a nice leg kick. Spike lands with a nice body punch. Spike drops Bell with a beautiful combination! Bell stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Spike is looking for the KO! Spike cracks Bell with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Spike has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Bell to stand back up!
Bell is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Spike scores with a spinning back kick! Oh Bell is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Bell tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Spike has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Spike buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Bell sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Bell seems to have got his legs back now. Bell looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Spike drops Bell with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Bell looks back up at him and smiles so Spike waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Bell is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Bell swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Spike counters with a big right hand! Oh Bell is in trouble here! Spike follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sunray Spike! Sunray Spike decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
