With a record of 20 - 28 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Riverson!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Fujiwara.

Fire attempts a counter takedown but Riverson avoids it well and moves away.
Riverson tries to land a body kick

and Fire counters with a takedown into side control.
Fire happy to just control the position for now.
Riverson is trying to get back to half guard.
Fire lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Riverson down.
Fire in side control lands a decent elbow.
Riverson is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Fire scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Riverson to see if he's OK.

Fire looks up at the clock and then as Riverson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Fire smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Riverson has hold of Fire's hands but Fire slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Fire prevents Riverson from improving his position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Fire in particular looking to stall.
Fire is looking to take a break and control but Riverson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fire seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Fire has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Fire lands a nice short elbow.

Fire looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Riverson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Riverson seems to have recovered his senses.

Fire drops an elbow to the side of Riverson's head.
Fire seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Riverson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Riverson moves into full guard.

Riverson looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Fire passes into side control.
Riverson is working to avoid the ground and pound but Fire connects with a decent elbow.
Riverson regains half guard.
Fire lands with a punch from half guard.
Fire scores with a big shot! Riverson's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Riverson! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Spinning Fire!
After winning the bout, Spinning Fire thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
