Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Brown (ranked 1661 p4p, 1182 weight class) and James Cole (ranked 212 p4p, 150 weight class). Brown's entrance music is I’ll Whip Ya Head Boy. A fine choice. James Cole has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with John Brown's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 5 - 2, fighting out of New York, James Cole! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

Cole is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Cole might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Brown haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Brown displaying some good clinch control by pressing Cole up against the cage. Cole throws a head punch that misses. Brown turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Brown throws a strike aimed at the side of Cole's head but Cole avoids it well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cole is working to avoid the ground and pound but Brown connects with a decent elbow. Brown throwing strikes but Cole manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Cole is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Brown has escaped the position, nice work there. Cole trying to control the action but Brown is working from the bottom.

James Cole is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Brown manages to work his way to half guard, despite Cole's best efforts. Brown won't allow Cole to pass to mount. Brown tries to roll over but Cole keeps him under control. Brown is trying to maintain the position but Cole is very close to passing his half guard. John Brown has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Cole looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Cole is keen to just control but Brown is a slippery customer. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Brown wants to get back to full guard. Cole controlling the pace. Brown wants to control but Cole is keeping busy.
