The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Shimura checks a leg kick.
Shimura misses the jab.

Gee bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Shimura's head.

Gee fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Shimura looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Gee misses with a wild body shot.
Shimura throws the left hand but Gee avoids the punch easily.
Gee goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Gee throws a big shot that misses.

Gee swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Gee scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Gee is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Shimura with a body shot.
Shimura throws a head kick but Gee moves out of range.
A little jabbing left from Gee on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Gee moves away from the strike by Shimura.
Shimura thows a left - swing and a miss!
Shimura connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Shimura throws out a loose jab but Gee uses good head movement to avoid it.
Shimura throws a series of punches but Gee moves out of range.
Gee swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Gee scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Shimura doesn't seem bothered though.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gee connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Shimura's hands.
Shimura throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Shimura doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Gee cracks Shimura with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Gee keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Shimura.
Gee pushes Shimura away with a front kick.

It looks like Takashi Shimura has been cut.

Gee decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Gee drops Shimura with a big left hand! Shimura is injured, injured bad! Gee jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Inspektor Gee! Inspektor Gee retains his heavyweight title!
After winning the bout, Inspektor Gee thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
