PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Genghis Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akio Osamu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khan comes into the arena with Ready 4 War blaring out of the sound system. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Osamu but Osamu pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Osamu.
Khan manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Osamu is working for a submission of some sort.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Khan is looking to improve his position.

Osamu is keen to just control but Khan is a slippery customer.
Osamu tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Khan regains full guard. Nicely done.
Khan wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Osamu is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Khan's half guard.

Khan holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Khan makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Khan.

Khan had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Osamu is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Khan Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Osamu's back instead.
Khan lands an elbow to the side of the head.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Khan's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

That was a close round but I would say that Genghis Khan will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Osamu ducks under a wild hook from Khan.
Osamu throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Khan misses with a series of wild punches.

Osamu closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Khan did well to prevent Osamu getting side control.
Khan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Khan is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Osamu's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Osamu's back!

Khan is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Khan is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Khan wants to pass the guard but Osamu is keeping the position.

Khan drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Khan seems to have locked his on tight now - Osamu screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Khan, as he picks up the win!
