Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jenji Ueda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tokugawa Ieyasu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ueda comes into the arena with Requiem for a Dream blaring out of the sound system. Jenji Ueda could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Tokugawa Ieyasu's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jenji Ueda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tokugawa Ieyasu!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ueda keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ueda throws a low kick but it's checked well by Ieyasu.
Ueda throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Ueda throws a hook but Ieyasu avoids it easily.
Ueda wants to clinch up but Ieyasu keeps it at a distance.
Ieyasu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ieyasu circles away from the clinch attempt.

It looks like Tokugawa Ieyasu has been cut.

Ueda throws a sloppy head kick and Ieyasu moves out of range easily.

Ieyasu drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ieyasu seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Ieyasu stuffs the takedown attempt from Ueda. Ueda gets slowly back to his feet.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Ieyasu.
Ieyasu moves in looking to clinch but Ueda pushes him off.

Ieyasu manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ueda manages to get himself to full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Ueda is working Ieyasu over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ueda accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Ueda stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ieyasu swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ieyasu not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ueda postures up and lands a big shot to Ieyasu's brow.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Ueda leaves Ieyasu with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Ieyasu counters with a shoot takedown. Ueda fights it but they end up in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ueda throws out a loose jab but Ieyasu uses good head movement to avoid it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ieyasu thows a huge punch but Ueda dodges it nicely.

Ueda throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Ieyasu counters with a body kick that stops Ueda in his tracks momentarily.

Thud! ouch! good body kick from Ieyasu - that will leave a mark!

Ueda gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ieyasu to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Ieyasu wants to control from the top but Ueda keeps moving.

Ueda looking for a sweep. Not yet Ueda, not yet.
Ueda is looking to stand up but Ieyasu isn't so interested in that idea.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jenji Ueda.
I think Ueda has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
