Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jami Jarr (ranked 704 p4p, 499 weight class) and Fanta Coco (ranked 102 p4p, 76 weight class). Jarr's entrance music is Wahhabi I. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

Coco misses with a double jab

and Jarr holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Jarr lands with a short head shot on the inside.

It looks like Fanta Coco has been cut.
Jarr tries a body shot but Coco blocks it.
Coco lands a good knee to the midsection. Jarr won't want to take too many of those.

and Jarr counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Jarr slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Jarr fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Coco manages to avoid it.

Jarr steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Coco.

A solid leg kick lands there for Jarr.
Coco tries to move into range but Jarr moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Jarr throws the kick towards the body but Coco avoids it.
Jarr uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Coco.

Coco will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

and Jarr counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Jarr walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

and Jarr counters with a stiff right hand.

That has opened up Fanta Coco's cut even more.
Coco tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jarr was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Coco misses with a hook.
Coco takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Coco crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Jarr - the referee stops the clock and Coco gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Jarr. Coco manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Coco misses with a head kick.
Jarr feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Coco connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
The crowd cheers as Jarr lands an impressive looking overhand right. Coco doesn't seem phased though.
Jarr bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Coco's head backwards.

A little feinted left hand from Jarr on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Coco misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jarr.
Jarr is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Coco.

and Coco takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Coco is rocked!
Jarr finds Coco's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Coco flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Jarr lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Coco will be OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jami Jarr!
