PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Olivier Bouleau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Vinicius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Hugh Johnson and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bouleau bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Vinicius tries to buck Bouleau off but Bouleau is having none of it.
Vinicius is not content to let Bouleau control the position.
Vinicius tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Bouleau tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Vinicius is trying to control Bouleau's posture but Bouleau avoids it.
Vinicius tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bouleau wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Bouleau scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Vinicius to see if he's OK.

Vinicius decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Bouleau is not content to let Vinicius control the position.

Bouleau is looking for a sweep. Vinicius is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Vinicius pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Bouleau closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Vinicius has had enough of the clinch but Bouleau keeps him there for the moment.

Bouleau gets control of Vinicius's arms and successfully pulls guard. Bouleau will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Bouleau working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vinicius doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Vinicius manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

and Vinicius counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bouleau won't be happy with that.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Bouleau gets to his feet - Vinicius follows without any prompting.
Vinicius closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bouleau circles away.

Bouleau stands up and waves to Vinicius to follow him.

Bouleau changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Vinicius looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Bouleau wants to lay and pray for a moment but Vinicius keeps working.

Bouleau wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Vinicius, who protects the arm well.
Vinicius regains half guard there - taking advantage of Bouleau's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Vinicius keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Bouleau is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Vinicius really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bouleau. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
