Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Penl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mezar Mynzek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Penl! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mezar Mynzek! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mynzek looks to land a combination but Penl avoids it well. Penl misses with a combination
and Mynzek counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mynzek. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Penl has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Mynzek off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. A big left from Penl misses. Mynzek moves into the clinch successfully.
Mynzek drags the fight down to the ground.
Penl wants to stand but Mynzek has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Mynzek controls Penl momentarily but Penl frees himself. Mynzek tries to land a sweep but no joy. Mynzek is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Mynzek tries to land a sweep but no joy.

and Mynzek counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Penl has one foot on Mynzek's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Mynzek wants to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mynzek needs to keep his hands up - Penl had a free shot at his head there. Jason Penl is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mynzek misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Penl lands a body shot.

and Mynzek counters with a slapping leg kick. This has been an exciting period of action! Penl throws a combination that misses and Mynzek counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Penl's guard now. Penl wants to stand up but Mynzek is controlling him. Mynzek is pushing down on Penl's leg trying to pass to half guard. Penl is fighting to maintain full guard but Mynzek has managed to sneak the leg through. Penl pushes Mynzek off looking to stand but Mynzek dives back in and keeps control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mynzek looks to land a strike but Penl avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Mynzek won't allow Penl to get back to his feet. Penl trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Penl knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mynzek on the ground. Mynzek drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mynzek jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Penl wriggles free and stands up. Mynzek dodges the punch combination from Penl.
Penl goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Mynzek closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Penl to the mat! Penl manages to get full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Penl is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mynzek is controlling him. Penl keeping full guard, as Mynzek tries to pass. Penl pushes Mynzek off and scrambles back to his feet.

Penl throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Mynzek counters with a nice double leg into side control. Penl won't be happy with that. Penl is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Mynzek is controlling him well. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mynzek working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Penl is not content to let Mynzek control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mezar Mynzek dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Mynzek throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Penl's waist but Penl gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mynzek off to one side. Mynzek gets the takedown into side control. Penl is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Mynzek asserts his dominance and retains side control. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mynzek thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Penl explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

and Mynzek counters with a shoot takedown. Penl fights it but they end up in guard. Mynzek trying to control but Penl is working from the bottom. Penl keeping full guard, as Mynzek tries to pass. Penl wants to stand and escape but Mynzek is having none of it. Penl is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Penl is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Penl tries to break the clinch but Mynzek is controlling the position.

Penl breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Mynzek holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Mynzek tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Mynzek jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Penl walks away with a smile on his face. Mynzek gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Jason Penl has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mezar Mynzek. Penl misses with a double jab
and Mynzek counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mynzek prevents Penl from getting back to his feet. Mynzek trying to control the position from guard on top but Penl is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Penl wants to stand and escape but Mynzek is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mynzek pushing down on Penl's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Penl tries to kick Mynzek off but Mynzek keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Penl is not content to let Mynzek control the position. Penl is trying to stand up here but Mynzek is controlling him well.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Mynzek shoots in but Penl avoids the takedown attempt easily. Penl throws a left and a right that both miss
and Mynzek counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Penl fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Mynzek looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Mynzek fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Penl throws a lazy right hand but Mynzek sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Nice defenses there by Mynzek. Mynzek misses with a looping right. Penl works over Mynzek's head and body with a nice combination. Jason Penl is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Penl throws a series of punches but Mynzek moves out of range. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mynzek. Mynzek shoots in looking for a takedown. Penl tries to sprawl out of it but Mynzek keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mezar Mynzek showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Will he get it? Penl is fending him off so far but Mynzek persists. Nope, Penl circles away and we're back to standing. Mynzek on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Penl digs a good body shot into Mynzek's ribs. Penl throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mynzek on the side of the head. Mynzek takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

and Mynzek counters with a takedown into side control. Penl is pushing Mynzek's head away, looking to escape. Mynzek manages to hold on to the position though. Mynzek is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Penl's shoulder. That is not cool. The strikes coming from Mynzek are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Mynzek decides to stand up, so the ref orders Penl to his feet.

Mynzek shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Penl but Penl pushes him off and we're back to square one. Jason Penl has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mezar Mynzek. Penl slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Penl misses with a series of wild punches.

Penl uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Penl swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Mynzek decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Penl's guard. Mynzek postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Penl is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mynzek is controlling him. Mynzek passes easily into side control. Nice work. Penl wants to get back to his feet but Mynzek drags him back down. Mynzek misses with the ground and pound. Mynzek advances to mount. Penl wants to try and get back to his feet. Jason Penl has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Mynzek looking to control and managing it successfully.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Mezar Mynzek. I've got Mynzek winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
