Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Correia (ranked 2006 p4p, 2314 weight class) and Simon Busch (ranked 249 p4p, 278 weight class). Busch has chosen I Like Beer as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Paulo Correia has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Paulo Correia seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Paulo Correia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Simon Busch! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Daniel Blasius and Albert Achterberg.

Busch is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Correia bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Busch's guard. Correia advances to half guard. Busch seems to have recovered his senses. Correia trying to pass the guard but Busch defending well.

Correia is looking to advance position but Busch won't allow it. Correia is looking for a kimura but Busch is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Correia to get the leverage. Busch has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Hardcore MMA . Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. I was talking to Correia's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

That was a close second round but I would say that Paulo Correia will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Busch can do anything to dispel that myth. And that's the end of the fight! Paulo Correia showed his dominance in that final round. Well Correia has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
