PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dexter Krampus (ranked 996 p4p, 1660 weight class) and Mike McGuire (ranked 142 p4p, 242 weight class). McGuire is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Jekyll And Hyde. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Krampus throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

McGuire is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Krampus had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.

McGuire feints a jab promting Krampus to slip. McGuire then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Krampus slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
McGuire takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Krampus is trying hard to land a takedown here. McGuire sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
McGuire throws a fast counter high kick but Krampus manages to duck under it in time.

McGuire displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Krampus throws out the jab.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts McGuire, as that shot connected.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Krampus crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from McGuire - the referee stops the clock and Krampus gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says McGuire. Krampus manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

McGuire attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Krampus might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.
