Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Deair Shaw!

Shaw ducks under a wild hook from Mulligan.
Mulligan bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Shaw's head.

Mulligan throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Mulligan fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Shaw, pushing him back against the cage.

Mulligan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Mulligan tries to break the clinch but Shaw is controlling the position.

Shaw gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Shaw goes for a takedown in the clinch but Mulligan prevents it.

Mulligan misses with a hook. Shaw ducked under it nicely.

Shaw breaks from the clinch.
Mulligan throws a jab when Shaw was well out of range.
Shaw is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Mulligan with a body shot.

Horrible takedown attempt by Shaw or perhaps it was just good defense by Mulligan, which made it look bad.
Mulligan lands a right hook to the body.

Mulligan fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Shaw on the side of the head.
Mulligan misses with a two punch combination.

Shaw moves out of range as Mulligan strikes.

Mulligan rushes Shaw and presses him up against the cage.
Shaw's coach down at Triple XXX was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Shaw's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Mulligan stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Mulligan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mulligan throws a jab when Shaw was well out of range.

Shaw fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mulligan, pushing him back against the cage.

Shaw breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Mulligan darts in and clinches Shaw up against the cage.
Mulligan wants to break the clinch but can't.
Shaw drops down looking for an ankle pick but Mulligan pulls his leg out and moves away.
Michael Mulligan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Deair Shaw.
Shaw looks winded!

Mulligan lands a big head kick that sends Shaw tumbling to the mat! Mulligan takes a step backwards and waves Shaw back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Shaw is rocked!
Shaw slips a jab and a cross from Mulligan.
Shaw is still on wobbly legs! Can Mulligan finish him?
Shaw shoots in for a takedown but Mulligan shows good takedown defense.
Mulligan looks to land a combination but Shaw avoids it well.
Mulligan sets himself, and Shaw steps forward looking for the clinch! Mulligan avoids it this time.
Mulligan drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Shaw right on the button. Shaw goes down! Mulligan follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Mulligan gets the win via TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Michael Mulligan!
