And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 9 wins and 4 losses; Ricky Judge! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Judge shoots in looking for a takedown. Anatta tries to sprawl out of it but Judge keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Anatta manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Anatta appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Anatta moves into the clinch successfully.

Shanti Anatta has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricky Judge. Anatta turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Anatta manages to end up in side control. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Anatta (4) vs (0) Judge Anatta tries to advance to mount but can't. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Anatta tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Anatta has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Anatta tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anatta tries for a kimura but Judge is defending well. Judge is trying to get back to half guard. Anatta in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Judge is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

After the fight, Shanti Anatta was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly. |
