Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

Bezerra tries for a takedown but Star circles away easily
and Star counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Star.
Star engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Bezerra has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bezerra working for a triangle but Star defends it easily.

Bezerra throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Star escapes and throws Bezerra's legs to the side, diving into side control!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Star tries to advance to mount but Bezerra denies him.

Star looks up at the clock and then as Bezerra takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Star smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Star tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Star cracks Bezerra with a big right hand but Bezerra just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Star is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bezerra is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bezerra is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Star off and has taken his back!
Star rolls, trying to escape but Bezerra keeps control of the position.
Bezerra softening up his opponent with strikes here.
Bezerra is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Star has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Bezerra has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Star taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Bezerra doesn't care though - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Erasmo Bezerra!
