This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 2 losses; Kreepee Krawlee! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 1 losses; John Lee!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Atkins and Sam Margolis.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Lee gets a clinch.
Lee is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Krawlee pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Lee has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Krawlee clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Lee has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Krawlee looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
We've been hearing good reports from Krawlee's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Krawlee will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Krawlee looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lee is looking to improve his position.

Lee is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Krawlee's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Krawlee's back!

Lee is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Krawlee defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Krawlee tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Lee wants to control the pace but Krawlee is squirming around nicely.

Lee tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Lee throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Krawlee has his hands clasped together but Lee breaks the hold and Krawlee is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Lee!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). John Lee!
John Lee is the new featherweight champion!
In his post fight interview, John Lee started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
