Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

And Wizard tries to counter it with a takedown but Thomas pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Wizard dives in for a single leg takedown but Thomas sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Wizard shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Thomas as he avoids it easily.
Thomas appears to be looking for a big counter.
Thomas misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mario Thomas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wizard has closed the distance and engaged Thomas in a clinch.
Thomas is pressed up against the cage. Wizard has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Thomas down to the mat. Thomas avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Wizard shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Thomas sprawls well. Thomas wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Wizard gets slowly back to his feet.

Thomas lands a nice hook to Wizard's body. Wizard takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Wizard is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Thomas shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Wizard eats them both and turns towards Thomas to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Thomas lands a really nice looking cross but Wizard seems unphased.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Thomas wants to get back to his feet but Wizard is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Thomas is not content to let Wizard control the position.
Thomas is trying to stand back up but Wizard is controlling him

Thomas is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Thomas bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Wizard's head.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wizard tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Thomas takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wizard ducks right into an uppercut from Thomas.

Thomas scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Wizard doesn't seem bothered though.
Thomas fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Wizard looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
The fighters circle momentarily. Thomas darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Wizard is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Thomas is defending well.
Wizard tries to score a body lock takedown but Thomas shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Wizard has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Thomas is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Wizard drops down looking for an ankle pick but Thomas pulls his leg out and moves away.
Wizard tries to score a power double leg takedown but Thomas sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wizard somewhat.

Thomas leaves Wizard with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Thomas looks to land a combination. Wizard sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Thomas lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Wizard backs up against the cage.
Thomas lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Wizard at a distance.
Thomas lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Wizard takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Thomas shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Wizard eats them both and turns towards Thomas to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Thomas stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Wizard drops his hands momentarily and Thomas takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Thomas darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Wizard darts in looking for a takedown but Thomas gets double underhooks and turns Wizard into the cage.
Thomas lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Thomas scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Thomas goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!

You get the feeling that Thomas really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Thomas, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
