Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Joao Apolinario! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Michael Santos! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Winston Alpacca and Daniel Franklin.

Santos looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Apolinario has picked Santos up and slammed him! Santos can't keep hold of the triangle and Apolinario manages to pass to side control! Santos tries to improve position but can't. Apolinario tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Oh, that's unlucky for Apolinario but great work by Santos. Santos trying to control the position but Apolinario is working away. Apolinario is looking for a sweep. Apolinario has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Apolinario prevents Santos from moving into mount.

Apolinario moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Apolinario has his foot on Santos's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Santos works his way back into a safe position though. Santos drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Apolinario manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Santos has Apolinario in his guard. Apolinario forces his way into half guard.
