Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Takashi Shimura (ranked 507 p4p, 522 weight class) and Haise Sasaki (ranked 67 p4p, 71 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Sasaki throws a leg kick but Shimura sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Sasaki pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Sasaki closes the distance and pushes Shimura back into the cage.

Shimura bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Sasaki 's head backwards.

Shimura thuds a left hand into Sasaki 's body.

Shimura lands a leg kick that knocks Sasaki off balance momentarily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Shimura gets to his feet and stands over Sasaki , holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Sasaki felt that one! Shimura unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Sasaki from any more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Takashi Shimura!
In his post fight interview, Takashi Shimura started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
