Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Takashi Shimura (ranked 507 p4p, 522 weight class) and Haise Sasaki (ranked 67 p4p, 71 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Takashi Shimura! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Haise Sasaki ! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Daniel Bishop and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shimura checks a low kick from Sasaki . Sasaki throws a leg kick but Shimura sees it coming and checks it nicely. Sasaki pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Sasaki closes the distance and pushes Shimura back into the cage. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Sasaki . A right hand to the body from Shimura.

It looks like Haise Sasaki has been cut. Sasaki prevents a body shot from Shimura. Shimura lands with a right to the head. Shimura lands on the inside with an uppercut. Shimura lands a body shot in the clinch.
A short left from Shimura. Sasaki throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Shimura presses Sasaki against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Sasaki looks winded! Shimura blocks an uppercut.
A short uppercut from Shimura. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shimura breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Sasaki takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Shimura fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Shimura bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Sasaki 's head backwards.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters circling - Sasaki throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Shimura thuds a left hand into Sasaki 's body. Shimura scoring well with a low kick there.
Shimura lands a leg kick that knocks Sasaki off balance momentarily. Shimura lands a big shot that drops Sasaki ! Can he finish him?
Sasaki is rocked! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Shimura gets to his feet and stands over Sasaki , holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Sasaki felt that one! Shimura unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Sasaki from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Takashi Shimura! In his post fight interview, Takashi Shimura started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception. The defeated Haise Sasaki had this to say: 'Back to the gym.'.
