Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Ispa Murhapuro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ruslan Karelin! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Sano and Ren Mimura.

It looks like Ruslan Karelin has been cut. Karelin scores with a jab to the jaw. Murhapuro doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Murhapuro has been working on his boxing with his coaches at JAG Battle Gym in the buildup to the fight. Karelin tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Murhapuro has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Karelin regains guard immediately. Murhapuro looking to pass the guard. That's two minutes gone in the round. Murhapuro stays in close to Karelin's body and controls the position. Murhapuro postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Karelin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Murhapuro, into his guard. Karelin is looking to work some ground and pound but Murhapuro has wrist control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Karelin postures up in Murhapuro's guard and throws a big left but Murhapuro blocks it. Karelin postures up and lands a big shot to Murhapuro's brow. Karelin working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Karelin postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Murhapuro will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Karelin distracts Murhapuro with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Karelin missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
