Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mini Stipe (ranked 3809 p4p, 6919 weight class) and Toby Vertongen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stipe comes to the cage accompanied by Godsmack - I Stand Alone. Toby Vertongen will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 23 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mini Stipe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Toby Vertongen! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vertongen scoring well with a low kick there.
Nice sprawl there from Vertongen as Stipe shoots in. Vertongen throws a hook but Stipe blocks it. Stipe shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vertongen pinned against the cage. Vertongen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Vertongen keeps the fight on the outside. Vertongen feints the counter takedown. Vertongen throws a body kick that misses. Mini Stipe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vertongen thows a left - swing and a miss! Stipe fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mini Stipe. That's going to take a lot out of him. No luck for Stipe with that takedown attempt. A looping hook to the body misses from Vertongen. Stipe does a little dance to reset his feet. Vertongen thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Stipe if he has to take too many more of those.
Vertongen throws a hook but Stipe blocks it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stipe shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Vertongen napping and manages to drive through into side control! We've been hearing that Stipe has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Vertongen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stipe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Vertongen wants to get back to his feet. Vertongen is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stipe throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Stipe tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Stipe sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Vertongen is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Stipe trying to control the position but Vertongen is working away. Stipe is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Vertongen has escaped the position, nice work there. Vertongen is pushing Stipe's head away, looking to escape. Stipe manages to hold on to the position though. Stipe is trying to get an arm triangle but Vertongen is defending well. Stipe is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Vertongen has escaped the position, nice work there. Stipe working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vertongen is not content to let Stipe control the position. Vertongen is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Stipe asserts his dominance and retains side control. Stipe throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Stipe goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Vertongen rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Stipe's guard! Nice work there by Vertongen! Vertongen is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Stipe has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Vertongen is looking to defend but Stipe has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Vertongen! Stipe pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Vertongen taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Mini Stipe! Mini Stipe was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
