Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Poison Ivy (ranked 6136 p4p, 25267 weight class) and Sexy Fighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sexy Fighter told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Poison Ivy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sexy Fighter!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Jorge Garcia and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Fighter shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ivy works his way to full guard. Good work.
Ivy is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Ivy manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ivy breaks from the clinch.
Ivy drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Ivy stands up from Fighter's guard - Ivy perhaps looking for a knockout.
Ivy doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Fighter counters with a good low kick that Ivy was not able to check.
Ivy feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Fighter is working an open guard so Ivy takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Fighter dives in for a single leg takedown but Ivy sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Ivy is looking for a counter combo.

Fighter avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Ivy.
Fighter is letting Ivy control him for a moment.

Fighter goes for a double leg but Ivy avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ivy continues to drive forward.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ivy drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Ivy decides to stand up, so the ref orders Fighter to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ivy misses with a takedown attempt - Fighter sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
And Fighter responds with a good body kick, but Ivy manages to step out the way in time.

Fighter is looking to stand up but Ivy isn't so interested in that idea.
Ivy seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Ivy wants to get up but he can't break Fighter's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Ivy trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Ivy tries to free his leg and advance position but Fighter is retaining full guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Fighter throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Fighter defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ivy.
Ivy doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Fighter counters with a nice body kick.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Fighter slaps away a takedown attempt from Ivy, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Fighter appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.

Poison Ivy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

and Ivy counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Fighter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ivy tries to avoid it but Fighter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ivy to the ground. Ivy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Fighter tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ivy defends well and Fighter ends up having to push Ivy into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Ivy closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Fighter did well to prevent Ivy getting side control.

Ivy decides to stand and escape the position.
Ivy lands a nice looking body kick.
Sexy Fighter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Poison Ivy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Ivy is looking to slow Fighter down with leg kicks.

Ivy moves out of range of the body kick from Fighter.
Ivy went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Poison Ivy.
Well Ivy has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
