Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Balack Rassum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Abott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Abott tries to clinch up. Abott moves in looking to clinch but Rassum pushes him off. Abott rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rassum moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Horrible takedown by Rassum or perhaps it was just good defense by Abott which made him look bad. Abott misses with a wild combination.
Abott misses with a few strikes there.
Rassum dodges the punch combination from Abott.
Abott throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rassum. Rassum drops his hands momentarily and Abott takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Abott throws a series of punches but Rassum avoids them all with ease. Rassum shoots in but Abott avoids the takedown attempt easily. Rassum shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Abott pinned against the cage. Abott gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Balack Rassum. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rassum drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Abott is controlling Rassum's posture.
That's one minute gone in the round. Abott keeping full guard, as Rassum tries to pass. Rassum trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Rassum is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Abott is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Abott has escaped and now he's on top! Rassum controls Abott momentarily but Abott frees himself. Rassum working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Abott doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Abott manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Rassum has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Abott can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Rassum bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Abott's guard. Abott utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Abott working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Rassum. Rassum trying to control the position from guard on top but Abott is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rassum controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Abott keeping moving, preventing Rassum from controlling successfully. Abott is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rassum is controlling him. Abott looks gassed! Abott pulls Rassum in to control the position. Rassum in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Abott shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Rassum counters with a single leg into guard. Abott didn't expect that. Rassum drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rassum jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Rassum not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rassum pushes down on Abott's leg and manages to get into half guard. Rassum in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Abott tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Rassum!
